Ethiopian Christmas

Leddet (Christmas) 6-7 January. Ethiopian Christmas is not celebrated on 25-26 December, like elsewhere in the world, but two weeks later. During this festival, the faithful attend all-night church services, often moving from one church to another. On Christmas day, the traditional games of genna of gugs (see above) are played. Lalibela and Addis Ababa are the best places to experience Leddet.
